...As You Know Bob

ok - big info-dump this time around, but it's important. This strip sets the concept from here on out, and is the whole basis for the redesign.

Gag-a-day jokes are a great way to show off and be funny, but I wanted... more. This gives me a much bigger sandlot to play in. It also helps me put some distance between Me and Alan.

Easily half my cast from the original strip was based on real people. I've learned that real people like being turned into cartoon characters. I've also learned that they then want to become very involved in the writing of those characters, and it can be troublesome to write around the things that might get me a "I wouldn't do that" phone call (not that anyone has done that -- it just becomes a worry that they might). Not to mention the people that get pissed because I didn't base a character on them. To sum up -- Real people are a lot of baggage.

So now I'm making up pure fiction. I'm drawing characters with only the slimmest idea of who or what they are. What's the story with the flaming green skeleton? No clue. You'll find out when I do.

Enjoy the ride.

So, will Mouseferatu also move into the walls? Will Arcane attempt to magically retrieve the leftover Chinese he left in the fridge before it spoiled, thereby creating the vortex from 2004? Will there be the occasional orange-furred cameo appearance just out of sight in the house's library?

And most mindblowing of all... with a regular update schedule be achieved???

Wow. Finally!
Living in the outskirts of civilation (Sweden (north of Europe)) the ammount of comics available is quite slim if you don't wanna pay the horrific fees to have them shipped from USA, therefor I thrive oon webcomics and all the weird humor avvailable.
And also through the magic of the internet I can also tell my favorite artist how much I like em without having to cough up a couple of thousand to fly across the atlantic to visit a convention. Hmm, probably should stop my ramblings now, anywell keep making those great comics!

WooHoo! Yeah, another fun thing about making comics with real people is the whole "you'd better not put THAT in the comic!". This is occasionally combined with the "And don't make me look fat" if it's a girl, or a "don't make me look stupid" if it's a guy. Or maybe this is just my group of friends :) Half the things I want to write about I'm not allowed to....

I'm liking the new direction you're going in though! Looking forward to it!
